The mission of the Barger Street Group is to conduct in-depth research to provide evidence driven insights and best practices to the first responder and emergency management community.

High Threat Incidents are not a new phenomenon. Using historical data from incidents we help first responders better prepare, train, and respond to these threats. We cull the signal from the noise to produce evidence based best practices and insights for the front line first responders.

We utilize data science methadologies to guide answers to the difficult questions surrounding high threat incidents. Combining domain knowledge with statistical techniques provides evidence based recomendations.

Critical Incident Debriefs

We provide first responders, emergency management, and government officials with a tailored debrief of lessons learned from a critical incident to guide preparedness, training, and response.

High Threat Medicine

With operational experience in tactical and disaster medicine, we help guide and shape the training, equipment, and protocols that first responders rely on.

First Responder Recovery

We are advocates and peer resources for first reponders who answer the call for high threat incidents. Recovery following a high threat incident is a long process, we are here to help.

About us

We founded the Barger Street Group to conduct in-depth research to provide evidence driven insights and best practices to the first responder and emergency management community.

Barger Street Group's Jason Dominiczak, was the first tactical medic on scene at the Virginia Tech tragedy. At the time he was a senior at Virginia Tech and Captain of the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad, the second oldest all-volunteer student-lead campus EMS agency. After college, Jason spent 5 years with the Virginia Tech Police Department as a patrol officer, SWAT operator, Tactical Medic, Public Safety Diver, and Firearms instructor. He graduated from the CONTOMS program and has taught tactical medicine courses to thousands of federal, state, and local tactical medics and physicians.
